That's quite interesting having the chat in the top corner like that, do you find it hard to read or notice up there? Also is there anything that appears in that square gap at the bottom?

I decided that so MUCH of a UI goes in the bottom, that I wanted to free up the bottom of the screen - I shrank the area that the buffs take up, and moved it to the right side of the minimap cluster, so that I had room for the chat.

i generally don't have any problems keeping up with it up there - but I've had it up there for over a year, now, so I'm used to it.

The square gap at the bottom is for Skada, which I use for both threat and damagemeter.
