    Description

So a few of my addons broke in 3.3.3 and I decided it was about time to try something new. I admit I kind of shamelessly stole some ideas from other UI's posted on the gallery - I liked them so much! The idea for the unit frames goes to Led and the frames to Merm. More or less going along with the Ish00/PixelFont infatuation that seems to be going around right now.

I'm still adding polish to it as I go but I'm pretty happy with where it's at!

Are my eyes fooling me, or is that a combat log and the trade channel along with some other unknown but neat stuff in one chat frame? Do explain.

Also, consider pushing the LFD finder button inside the minimap and removing its border. Can the ugly resting/combat/etc icons be replaced by some kind of text in SUF? And lastly, lock omen and recount, or they might run away!!!

Sorry, this was not my cup o' tea. There's just too much going on for my eyes. First off: Too many buttons. I like to divide my buttons/action bar in three categories. 1. Frequently used spells, which is spells that I'm most likely to use within 30 secs. This would be my main bar, covering approx. 12 spells. 2. Less frequently used spells, like cooldowns greater than 30 secs. Lastly, spells that are situational. Such as mount, profession links and so on. Whereas the two latter categories are faded out transparent.

Second: Not a huge fan of stock Recount and Omen. I think both look bloated when not configured to a certain style of an interface.

Third: Mixing fonts and textures = bad. Doing so, and you'll disrupt the consistent feel of an UI. I'm refering to buff timers, OmniCC, Recount, DK runes, etc. On the other hand, the chat should stay as it is, because reading vast amounts of pixel fonts is a huge strain on the eyes, methinks.

And at last: The screens' real estate. Not going in depth here, mr. MonkeyQuest.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I too wish I could get away from having so many bars on screen but I've tried and it just doesn't work for me. I play lots of alts, many of which have multiple specs. On my mains I can get away with no bars showing at all but on the alts I need to have the bars showing so I remember where stuff is!

I did style up Omen a bit so that's not stock. Recount on the other hand is a PoS when it comes to styling. You have no direct control over the font size - it just scales with the bar size. I tried using a pixel font with it and the results were terrible so I just left it like it is for now.

Since these shots I've redone the buff timers to match the ClassTimer bars above the unit frames as well as changed the font for OmniCC. I've left the DK runes the same cuz well, it's an alt I don't play much and there really aren't many options out there that can offer the look I want and still be easily readable at a glance.

And as for MonkeyQuest it takes up a good bit of screen real estate but when you're doing nothing but questing on a character it is extremely functional. I like to be able to see all the quests I have lined up at a glance. If I hop into an instance I can minimize it. As soon as the character hits 80 it goes away for good.

You got it. It's pretty simple - I use a mod called HitsMode for my combat log. It creates it's own chat tab. I simply filter out all the junk (trade, exp, loot, combat) out of my main chat tab and into it instead using the built in Blizzard chat options.

Good idea on the LFD button. I'll have to look into the unit frame icons.

Glad you like it! I might upload it but I wouldn't be offering any support - you'd be completely on your own to figure out what to do with it.

i understand, but for people who are capable of figuring out what to do it looks like a very efficient UI. i think ive checked about every few hours just to see if you do lol

I love that little Info bar under your action bars. I used to use titian panel but I couldn't figure out how to make it smaller and out of the way. May be you could post what add on it is? (The one with durability, guild/friends and what not)

    Thanks

P.S I've looked through your list of add on but I cant narrow it down :)

Hey Taeo, awesome site absolutely love the design. I discovered the site via your post in the UI thread on MMO Champion. Can you let me know the font you are using in chat and hitsmode and if you apply any shadow/outline to it please?

@Gratscot - Out of the list of addons I believe its SLDT, unless he's using some Data Broker stuff.

Are the bars above your player frame ClassTimer? If not what are they? Thanks.

    That would be SLDT.

I believe I'm using Myriad Pro with a light outline.

Yup! It's ClassTimer. I started using it a while ago and I now consider it to be one I can hardly play without.
