This isn't worthy of being called a UI in the terms of this website.

To go into more detail, it does fall short of the overall standard here for several major reasons.
    - Firstly, X-perl doesn't have enough options for customising. If you like X-Perl, try Stuf instead.
    - The layout is totally haphazard. It looks like you've added some addons one by one to the default layout, and the default layout is extremely bad, therefore so is yours.
    - Once you've got a great a functional layout (browse this site for ideas), put some effort at least into making the various elements have a matching style. f.e., make omen's background back, use buttonFacade on the buttons, get a minimap addon etc.

I wouldn't be as extreme as to say the default Blizzard interface is poorly designed. You should say it doesn't fit your taste or a number of other people's taste rather than calling it out as being bad.

No, it actually is a bad layout. Just like putting the Speedometer and Fuel Gauge on opposite sides of the car would be bad.

The Blizz default interface was made over 7 years ago now (: It's fair to say that they haven't really paid it much attention since then. As such the addon community has had that time to pretty much perfect the options available to it whether that's the core informative addons to the more artistic side of things. As that's pretty much all we do.

So yep, compared to a lot of modern day UI's the default Blizz interface is poorly designed.

In regards to the UI yeah.. certainly needs a lot of work this is the kind of thing I'd post as a lolUI for the laughs, not really as a Interface and certainly not on this kind of site. A converging art theme helps a lot. Minimalism has forever been in, and screen real estate is a priority. It improves the way you play and the way you perform in both PvP & PvE instances etc etc. Where more so than ever, performance depends on environmental issues "DON'T STAND IN THE FIRE!".
