A tank/dps UI compilation with three objectives:

    1. Center crucial information on the screen, rather than have it arranged around the periphery as in the default UI.

    2. Mirror the layout of the Nostromo N52 and N52te gamepads.

    3. Lowest possible FPS and load-time impact while meeting #1 and #2.

See the download page for details and additional screenshots.

very nice clean looking ui however it always bugs me when people have multiple player or target status bars.. i find the player and target unitframes at the bottom unnecessary. I love the setup with buffs/debuffs and positioning of threat/dps meters. If it was mine i'd hide the action bar displayed and get some cooldown mod like sexycooldown or fortexorcist's cooldown mod and toss it across just above the threat/dps; i try to make the least clutter possible on mine

Very good and interesting layout. But like Dernn said, there are a few too many unit frames, and Grid should take care of that. Also Sexymap, while nice on the eyes, is just a waste to use as it tends to draw the eyes away from what is important. And it seems like the chat box font is a tad bit big.

Thanks for the feedback. A few explanations:

I personally like to clearly see my Focus and their Target, since I mainly tank and usually have the other tank set to my Focus. Those are the two extra unit frames on the left.

I also like to see my Target's Target clearly, so I can see when which of the other two tanks the boss currently on (Deathwhisper, other three-tank-taunt-toggle fights).

The only unit frame I don't really need is ToToT, but included it just for symmetry.

I don't use Grid b/c I'm running on Linux via Wine and resource-intensive addons can really impact performance in raids, and Grid is one of the more resource-intensive out there.

The action bar is there b/c every single button in it is a 4-level macro (ctrl, alt, shift, nomod), mapped to the keys of a Nostromo N52 gamepad. The idea is to enable 11 of the N52's 14 buttons to access 44 combat abilities using 4 modifier keys each.

If I had that mapping completely memorized, I suppose I could hide the action bar. But I don't, and since I respec my DK frequently depending on raid comp and encounter, I don't expect to, at least until Blood becomes the only tank tree in Cataclysm.

I've tried ForteXorcist and don't like it, I need numbers rather than bars for any cd longer than a few seconds.

Having said that, it's easy to get rid of Focus, Focus Target, ToT, ToToT, and replace the SuF raid frames with Grid. Disable them all in SuF settings.

Question: Why in the world would you want the "lowest possible FPS"?

  5. Bhalial ( Member ) - Posted 6 years ago #

Lowest possible FPS and load-time impact <-

Read carefully how he said this sentence.

Lowest possible FPS AND load time impact.

So he wants as little impact on his FPS and load time.

    Yup, what Bhalial said.
